About Our Program
Our mission is to provide a post-treatment launching pad where young men in early recovery can forge lasting friendships and embark on a transformative journey in sobriety. Rooted in adventure and community, our program offers a comprehensive approach to healing, blending evidence-based therapies, holistic practices, and singular outdoor excursions. With activities such as hiking, camping, rafting, fishing, and rock climbing in the stunning wilderness of northern Arizona, we create opportunities for individuals to reconnect to nature, build meaningful relationships, and rediscover the joy of shared experiences. At Mountain House Recovery Resources, we believe in the power of community to inspire growth and change. Join us on the path to recovery and discover the camaraderie and support of the Mountain House family as you embark on a journey towards health, happiness, and lasting sobriety. You will not simply stay sober in Mountain House, you will create a life that is inspired and makes a difference.
Adventures
Transitioning back into a productive and healthy life after treatment can be challenging, which is why having meaningful experiences to look forward to can be an important part of the recovery process. Our hosted, multi-day adventure trips give residents something positive to get excited about while also building confidence, connection, and a sense of accomplishment. Adventure is a core value at Mountain House, and we have found that time spent in the outdoors helps clients reconnect with themselves, build healthy relationships with peers, and experience joy in sobriety. These trips provide opportunities for growth, reflection, and shared experiences that reinforce the idea that recovery can be both fulfilling and exciting.
Clinical Services
At Mountain House we provide a broad spectrum of real-life therapeutic services designed to support whole-person recovery. Our program recognizes that many individuals face challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional regulation difficulties. Each week, clients participate in individual therapy and multiple group sessions with their peers, utilizing evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, EMDR, psychoeducation, and psychodrama to build insight, develop healthy coping skills, and work through past experiences that impact recovery.
Coaching
After we remove substances from the equation, many people ask, “what now?” At Mountain House, we meet individuals where they are to help remove barriers to success and support them in discovering their purpose. Our coaching services are tailored to each individual’s needs, whether that involves strengthening executive functioning, identifying long-term goals, or pursuing a bigger vision for their life. Through a blend of accountability, motivation, and goal setting, we help clients stay engaged in their new lives, while also providing family coaching and bi-weekly family Zoom groups to keep loved ones involved and aligned in the recovery process.
24/7 Support
Our team of dedicated case managers, therapists, and coaches is deeply committed to supporting clients throughout every stage of recovery, including the most challenging moments. We believe consistent, reliable support is essential to lasting change. When a client needs guidance, encouragement, or intervention, our team steps in to ensure they are not navigating difficult situations alone. Regardless of the time, circumstance, or level of support required, our priority is helping each individual stay connected, supported, and moving forward in their recovery.
Our Program
1
Basecamp
Base Camp is the first phase of our program where we establish a strong foundation for sustained sobriety and personal growth. Upon admission, individuals undergo a comprehensive assessment to tailor their treatment plans to their unique needs. During this phase, residents immerse themselves in a supportive community environment, participating in group therapy sessions, individual counseling, and life coaching.
2
Ascent
In this phase men are able to work full time and/or enroll in schooling. Building upon the foundation established in Base Camp, residents are able to and encouraged to participate in all therapeutic offerings and trips, but are not required to do so. Through guided reflection and continued community support, participants ascend towards a brighter future, equipped with the tools and resilience to navigate life's challenges with confidence and sobriety.
3
Summit
In the third and final phase of the Mountain House Continuum, known as "The Summit" program, individuals transition into independent living with a solid foundation of recovery. After completing a minimum of six months in our continuum and achieving financial self-sufficiency or demonstrating adherence to a budget, participants are poised for the next phase of their journey.
Our Team.
Meet the heart and soul of our men's recovery program, a dedicated team of individuals committed to guiding and supporting each resident on their journey to lasting recovery and personal transformation.

I was once a client at the Mountain House Recovery. I would like to take this time to thank Travis (house manger) and the company for helping me stay sane to my Recovery. All I have are nothing but great words, memorable experiences, and a life long brotherhood of empowerments. If you are looking for support, structure and accountabilities, then mountain house is the best place to go, and I am so grateful to have shared my experiences with them... So, once again, thank you, I love you all, and keep trudging the road of happy destiny.

From a parent's perspective we love Mountain House Recovery. The management team is responsive, thoughtful and supportive. They go the extra mile to provide individualized and group support to each member of the house and, if appropriate, to communicate with families. The houses themselves are comfortable and well equipped and in a great location close to downtown Flagstaff.
